BOGOVA WATERFALL & OSUMI CANYONS

Through this tour you will discover a hidden gem of the Albanian nature, still untouched by mass tourism. One of the beautiful landscapes that Albania offers is Osum canyon and a visit to this natural wander is a must! The canyon is about 26 km long and its beautiful green flora all year around allows it to be visited and explored in spring, summer and early autumn. While discovering Osumi canyon, you will pass by incredible rock formations shaped by the water erosion. They reach a height of 80-90 meters, giving a sense of grandiosity. Water is also flowing from different sides, creating small waterfalls inside the canyon. It includes six narrow sections ranging from 1.5 m wide in the riverbed up to 35 m wide further up the sides of the canyon. Bogova waterfall is also known as the Sleeping Pearl under Tomorr Mountain from the locals, and it is reached after a 40 min walk through the forest. Part of a natural protected area, the waterfall gives you a wild life feeling; you can hear the sound of the river throughout the hike and enjoy the greenness of the area. Coming directly from the rocks, the water has created a natural small pool about 8 meters deep, and it is quite cold and the most courageous /adventurous ones jump in and have an ‘awakening’ bath. Visiting the canyon together with Bogova waterfall and some historical and cultural spots on the area, makes a great combination of a day tour in nature, with hiking, walking, swimming/sunbathing activities as well as hearing some legends and traditions from the area.
